Chaos Lord On Juggernaut Blow by Blow

My Chaos were somewhat wandering in no man's land until the Daemonkin Codex came out.  It was the perfect mix of Khorne goodness with all the units I have loved over the years.  But they needed a leader, someone with the rugged good looks to lead such a bloodthirsty horde.

Sadly, no 40k Khorne Lord on a Juggernaut exits.  But it does in fantasy!!! Behold the no longer available model!

Obviously I can't paint that well.  But I just wanted to give you a taste.  I snagged him on a trading website almost complete, just lacking the right arm and shield and the juggernaut was missing some trophies.

For the right arm I went with a Chaos Raptor forearm and the axe from the Chaos Aspiring Champion.  Combining the two makes one mean model.  Whats better than one axe?  Two!

Obviously this guy would need some love to get him up to 40k Snuff.  BUT I LOVE this model, so I don't want to take away too much from his unadulterated coolness.   I decided to add on a Chaos Lord backpack with an impressive trophy rack.  The futuristic backpack coupled with the Ork and Space Marine head does add to the 40kness of the model.

There isn't much to add to the juggernaut as he is essentially the same in both fantasy and 40k. But I did decide to add some xenos and space marine helmets and skulls to make it extra evident that we are in the future.

With everything in sub-assembly it's ready to start painting!

But there is a reason I suck at blogging, I don't take pictures of the process!

And now, the man who needs no introduction:

I love Khorne!

Forgeworld Khorne Daemon Prince

I bought this guy on a whim a while ago.  He just looks so angry!  I finally got around to painting him and I am happy with the results.  Not a lot you can do with a ton of brass armor.  But I think he wears it well.

40k Chaos Sorcerer

My Chaos Sorcerer and familiar. I really love his scary faceplate. I wanted that feeling of barely contained power beneath the filagree of his armor. Not sure if it came out okay, but I went for it.
I still like that grungy feel of my chaos marines thus far. Not a nurgle feel to them, but more of a derelict attitude to their armor and weapons.
I plan on swapping him out as the main baddy in my copy of Assasinorium Execution Force

Kill Team Battle Report Cultists VS Space Wolves

So here we are!  My first Kill team game was against Jake, an old gaming buddy.  He would be running his Space Wolves.  Complete with roughly 11 (don’t remember) marines with CCW and Pistols, a Sgt with a Power Fist, and a mean leader riding a very large dog (Or wolf, whats the difference?)

We rolled up the mission: King of the Hill.  Basically we would be fighting over the middle square of the board.  Each controlled section of building is a VP.  Naturally we both set up as close as possible and were assaulting in the first turn!

He got the first turn and moved in close with the space pups. This kid could be a wrist model.
He knocked down the first row of cultists with bolt pistol fire.  And a very aggressive wolf rider is about to knock some heads.
Unfortunately the other group of marines were less than graceful and couldn’t pass an initiative test to save their life.  My guys up top on overwatch would be safe for now (As seen with the space wolves basically jumping into the gaps.
After the ensuing fighting he killed 4 cultists with one swing of his dumb axe.  The basic tactical also took out all 5 of the other cultist squad.  Luckily my Spawn (Ogryn) was able to counter charge and keep that sucker right where I wanted,
As always, I skipped a few interesting events.  Needless to say, I set a space wolf on fire with my flamer, and knocked another one down.  My Cultists charged in and made sure to kick him while he was down.  Also, I was able to one shot his Sgt. with the power fist with my plasma pistol toting commander.  Never leave home without your plasma!
So here we are a few turns later.  I have charged both spawn in to try and bring down that stupid commander.  But he would not die!

He was able to pile even more marines into the fight, and eventually did kill one Spawn.
And you may be wondering, “Well what happened next!?”  Well, I was below half, took a route test and failed!  So my guys hightailed it out of there!
A solid victory for Jake!  My one consolation was that after resolving the injuries, I only lost TWO cultists.  While Jake lost his Sgt. with the power fist.  I got the better end of that deal…

Completed Kill Team

So my last post was quite brief as it got cut off!  I’m still figuring out this whole tumblr thing.

Any who.  Here is a dump of pictures of my completed 200 point kill-team!  I hope to add an obliterator as well as some Chaos Space Marines next.

I REALLY like how the ogryns turned out.  Battle reports to follow!

I may have to employ a lot of the weathering techniques I have been experimenting with into my chaos space marines.

Forgeworld Chaos Renegade Command - Leader

Well, I have been really struggling to get off the ground with my Chaos 40k army. I decided to have 100 cultsits as my base. That was a bad idea.
But something about a mass of crazed people running at the enemy called to me. I am still working on the fluff, but I have an idea of how I want to play the army.
As the force slowly grows we have decided to start a little kill-team league so that we can get painting.
For my leader, I chose the Forgeworld Chaos Renegade Command. This is such a sweet model.
